Creating Emmett’s Legacy Fund

In addition to the fundraising campaign, we’re so excited to announce the launch of Emmett’s Legacy Fund, an annual fund designed to provide funding for needed medical and therapy equipment. More details – along with the application – can be found here, but here are some keys points:

  • Applications for 2021 will be due May 9 and recipients announced June 6.
  • Next year and moving forward, applications will be due March 14, with recipients announced on April 11, Emmett’s birthday.
  • The program is open to all CDG and NGLY1 families, both within the United States and international.
  • All grant requests should be within $150 and $2,000, with a letter of medical necessity from a licensed physician/specialist, therapist, or social worker who works directly with the patient.
  • Applications will be reviewed by a committee. The number of awardees is TBD depending on the amounts requested.

Refer to the application for further details.

Life for children with disabilities is already difficult, without the added challenge of finding equipment that allows them to perform the most basic functions in life – sitting, bathing, walking, etc. We hope this fund will make it easier for a few families to purchase equipment that will help improve the quality of life for their children.
