PIGA Congenital Disorder of Glycosylation (MCAHS2)

The Fundraising Campaign Launches!

If you’ve come here by way of the fundraising campaign (https://secure.givelively.org/donate/cdg-care/help-us-fund-a-cure-for-piga-cdg), thank you and welcome!

This campaign was born from a lot of different things… but at its core, it was created from the belief that people want to help improve the world we live in. I listened to this song A LOT (“What They’ll Say About Us” by Finneas) when it came out last year, and it always filled me with a deep sense of both grief and hope. It ended up inspiring me to put together the video you see on the fundraising page.

Now a little bit more on the research. We’ve already created a gene therapy vector, established proof of concept in cell lines, and are working on developing mouse models for preclinical in-vivo proof of concept. Our mission with this fundraising campaign is to raise enough money for the next phase of gene therapy research – to conduct required safety and toxicity studies.

More on the research and our research partners can be found here: https://piga-cdg.org/research/current-research-projects/. And if you’re interested in seeing what research has been done on PIGA-CDG to date, we’ve listed those papers here: https://piga-cdg.org/research/existing-piga-related-research-papers/.

If you have any questions about the fundraising campaign, please don’t hesitate to contact us. THANK YOU so much for your support… on behalf of us and all the families impacted by PIGA-CDG.
